q&a

Hello! The quickest way to get an answer from me is to send questions un-anonymous so that I can answer them directly!

image

Thank you very much, I’m terribly flattered. In the last 5 minutes I prepared a pseudo-tutorial for you, I hope that’s alright.

image

We’ll start off with some badly drawn bunched fabric, probably snipped from a curtain or someone’s dress. I’m working in Paint tool Sai!

image

The next step is usually to slap colour on broadly so that I can get an idea of where shade goes. I do with with the pen tool, usually set at 300px+ in size and 30% opacity. (Settings for those curious!) For big painting pieces it’s useful to figure out how your colours will go, and quickly.

image

I usually like to put in some highlights/other hues in to make it more interesting, but other than that you just refine the shading up some.

image

Adjust the colours some more/fix things … and that’s really all. This is not a good example but I hope that you could understand the images. (*´~`*);;; This is usually how things get coloured, but not always!

There’s a few other anon questions under the cut.

What methods are you using to learn Japanese? Ive been trying to teach myself as my new year resolution for this year but work has been really stressful and I had to stop. Im looking for tips to help me remember everything.

I’m learning from books and websites. I don’t spend as much time on it as I should though. It really needs to be practiced and used. ^^a

Hmm… knowing how to read hiragana/katakana would be good too.

Also, I have a couple of friends who can speak it and they’re helping me out.

Write 10 facts about yourself and send this to 10 of your favorite followers :D
